How to Take a Tax Payment

Cash and Check

Paying in Person:  Cash is required if you have a block with the DMV and would like to have it removed without a 10 day hold for your RI check to clear.  You will be provided with a letter that your taxes are paid in full if you are going to AAA or the DMV in person, otherwise if you are renewing online we can send an email to clear you (usually within the hour if the DMV is open).

Cash is only if you are paying in person!  DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL OR PUT IT IN THE DROP BOX!

Please make all checks payable to Manville Fire District and your Account Number in the Memo bottom left on the check.  Mail to:  Manville Fire Tax Collector, P.O. Box 83, Manville, RI  02838.

There is also a Tax Collector Drop Box outside the Tax Collectors Office at 112 Old Main Street, Manville, RI  02838 should the office be closed.  DO NOT PUT CASH IN THIS BOX.

Credit Card Payments

If you would like to pay by credit card you can conveniently do so by going to www.RIeGov.com.  You will find this website on your bill in addition to your Pin # and account number which you will also need to complete the payment.  Once the payment is made a receipt is emailed to the fire tax office to be processed as of the date of your payment.  If there is a block on your Motor Vehicle Registration at the time of payment an email will be sent to the DMV to remove the block and we will email you back once we receive the email from the DMV that it has been removed.  You can also check the DMV’s website  www.dmv.ri.gov then go to “Online Services”.

*Note:  The Credit Card Company charges a convenience fee for this service.  This fee is not charged by Manville Fire District.

We are currently looking into providing the convenience of paying with a Credit Card in person.

Address Changes

IMPORTANT!  If you have or are moving out of Manville, it is your responsibility to change your address with The Department of Motor Vehicles for your License and Registration so that you will no longer be billed for Fire Tax in Manville.  Also note that Fire Taxes are billed the following year for the prior calendar year, i.e.  Bills received in October 2019 are for taxes assessed as of December 31, 2018.

To change your address with the Manville Fire District, please click on the Change of Address Form.  Download the form, complete, scan and email it to taxcollector@manvillefire.com, or mail it to Manville Tax Collector, P.O. Box 83, Manville, RI  02838.
